News & Updates
9-05-2009 The 2009 Pocatello "Run the Gap" Marathon was a huge
success! Holly Molino completed her first half-marathon in
a time of 2:37:39 (2 hrs, 37 min.'s, 39 s). The sense of
achievement is made better by the fact that Holly's run
raised over 500 books for "Grandma's Gifts". Holly is very
thankful to everyone for the support, both in her efforts
running the half-marathon, and for their donations to
"Grandma's Gifts". It's not to late to DONATE! Holly, her
family and friends will be collecting donations over the next
2 weeks. There is plenty of time to donate new children
books or money (to be used to buy books)!
9-04-2009 Access Point Co-Owner, Holly Molino is ready to go for
tomorrow's 10-Annual "Pocatello's Half-Marathon". With six
(6) months of training under her belt, Holly has
successfully prepared for the 13 mile run. Pictures and
updates will be posted after the race. Holly would like to
thank everyone for their overwhelming support. The
charity drive was very successfully and has gathered over
500 books for "Grandma's Gifts".
7-24-2009 Access Point Co-Owner, Holly Molino continues her training
for the Pocatello Half-Marathon on September 5th, 2009.
She has worked her way up to 10 miles on her long
runs. As the half-marathon nears, she remains on target
to meet her goal of completing the event. To date we have
over 500 books pledged, many of which have already been
delivered to Access Point offices. Thank you to those of
you who have pledged to support her run and the charity
she is running for, "Grandma's Gifts". Please continue to
tell your friends and encourage their donations!
On September 5th, 2009 Access Point Co-Owner Holly Molino is running the Pocatello half-marathon as a charity fundraiser for
Grandma's Gifts.
Grandma's Gifts is a non-profit charity started in 1993 by a young girl, Emily Douglas at the age of 11 to provide desperately needed support for children and families in the Appalachian Mountain Range.
Grandma's Gifts is unique in that it gives 100% of donations directly to the families it helps.
Grandma's Gifts has been operating since 1993 and to date has raised 2.5 million in goods and services, more than 650,000 books (9.5 million dollars worth), and 12,500 lbs of food in sum totaling more than 12 million dollars of goods and services.
Holly is asking community members to support the fundraiser by donating books that will go directly to impoverished children living in the Appalachians. Donations are asked to be in the form of books or cash (that will go to purchase books). The half marathon is approximately 13.1 miles long (i.e., one book per mile completed by Holly would equal 13 books in total). Donors can also contribute their favorite book(s) or whatever sum of cash they can give.
All donations can be dropped off or mailed to one of Access Point's offices in Idaho Falls or Pocatello.
